In 2010 Adam and Melissa founded a non-profit that focused on farm to school efforts. This resulted in designing and installing 10 outdoor classrooms being installed along with K-12 curriculum and year round education onsite at these schools. These efforts spearheaded multiple community engagements and now the program has been absorbed into the school district with a full time farm to school educator. The DIRT Project

This was a need that spurred from beginning the urban farm. The crew received a grant from MFH that kicked off the ten schoolyard gardens. Five of the schoolyards received high tunnels so that the kids could learn year round in the garden. This team continued to educate through the summers with the YMCA and led after school clubs at many schools. Their crew designed, built and installed all the outdoor classrooms. This was all made possible with the thousands of helping hands.
